(Spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen Star Wars: The Clone Wars S7, The Mandalorian and The Rise of Skywalker)

Ahsoka Tano

A character I grew up with, and undoubtedly my favorite Star Wars character of all time, she’s compassionate, kind, extremely smart, a cunning warrior and a beacon of hope. She has never been voiced by anyone else other than Ashley Eckstein who has now voiced Ahsoka for the 12 years we have known her, (which has been 26 years in Ahsoka’s life). From Ahsoka’s first battle on Christophsis when she was a 14 year old Padawan learner to Anakin Skywalker, to being captured by Trandoshan hunters and leading other young Jedi to survive, to defeating Maul at the end of the Clone Wars during the siege of Mandalore and honorably surviving order 66, to her role in Rebels and facing off against Vader and Maul one last time, we even heard her voice in The Rise Of Skywalker. She also narrated the canon audio book “Ahsoka” By E.K. Johnston. Its always been Ashley Eckstein!

When the rumors fist started circulating that Ahsoka was going to be in The Mandalorian I was sure they were going to have Ashley portray her as she had done for 12 years, Disney ended up not even asking Ashley if she would like to do it!

The Ahsoka I saw in The Mandalorian was not the Ahsoka I grew up with, she was cold, frightened and killed a lot of people. Ahsoka never killed unless she had to! She wasn’t the compassionate, loving Snips we know so well and love. Ahsoka is that beacon of hope, and we don’t want that hope to die. Ashley Eckstein is the only Ahsoka, and no one else will ever be able to fill those shoes. Bring her back!
